Dr. Cheung Kin Chung, Chair of the Executive Committee of UTMDF, expressed gratitude for Sands China’s generous donation. He remarked that Macao, one of the core cities in the Greater Bay Area and the Commerce and Trade Co-operation Platform for China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, faces a growing demand for international‑minded, high‑calibre professionals. As a benchmark enterprise in Macao’s integrated tourism and leisure industry, Sands China has consistently placed the nurturing of local talent at the core of its corporate social responsibility, and has long supported youth development and higher education in Macao. This donation will further deepen industry‑education integration, foster closer alignment between academic learning and industry needs, cultivate a steady stream of cultural and tourism talent for Macao, and build a robust high‑quality talent pipeline.

Dr. Wilfred Wong, Executive Vice Chairman of Sands China Ltd., said that Macao’s development into a world-renowned tourism destination was the result of the collective efforts and close collaboration of the government, industry, educational institutions and the wider community over many years. He noted that, as the largest integrated resort operator in Macao, Sands China firmly believes that talent is the cornerstone of industry advancement and urban development. He added that the company’s support for the Macao University of Tourism not only reflected its commitment to advancing education in Macao, but also underscored its dedication to talent development as a strategic priority. Looking ahead, he said that Sands China would continue to work closely with local tertiary institutions, actively fulfil its corporate social responsibility, and help nurture more globally competitive talent, contributing to Macao’s development as a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure.

This marks the fourth in a series of donation ceremonies with integrated tourism and leisure enterprises. UTM looks forward to continued donation support from all sectors of society to pool efforts for the development of UTM, help Macao integrate into national development initiatives and consolidate the talent base for high‑quality cultural‑tourism development in the Greater Bay Area.
